TENT MEETING
May 18th - 20th
with guest speaker
Stan Butt

Friday & Saturday at 6:30 PM
Sunday times are as usual
Everyone is invited to stay for our meals together Friday
and Saturday evenings and Sunday morning.

A SUCCESSFUL TENT MEETING
DEPENDS ON US!
1. IT DEPENDS ON OUR ATTITUDE. Are we looking forward to
it? Do we realize its potential for good? Are we excited about the cause of
Christ?
2. IT DEPENDS ON OUR ATTENDANCE. Some meetings fall because 50% of the
members do not attend any service except Sunday. Will we clear our schedule so
we can be present at every service.
3. IT DEPENDS ON OUR INVITATIONS. Regardless of all the advertising
done through printed announcements, the newspapers, radio, etc., visitors will
usually attend only if personally invited by a Christian friend. How many do you
plan to invite?
4. IT DEPENDS ON OUR FRIENDLINESS. Do our visitors feel welcome and
wanted in our services/ How many of us make a special effort to greet visitors
and invite them back?
5. IT DEPENDS ON OUR PARTICIPATION. Nothing "kills" a service so
effectively as a combination of back-seat, inattention during the services, and
poor singing. How simple these problems are to solve! Will we?
6. IT DEPENDS ON OUR PRAYERS. Are we praying for the preacher, the
song leader, those who need to respond?
7. IT DEPENDS ON OUR ENCOURAGEMENT. A word of love and encouragement
to one who needs to respond to heaven’s invitation means so much. Words of
appreciation to those who work in behalf of the meeting will help insure
success. Let’s all encourage one another!
Yes, Christian friends, a success tent meeting for Christ depends on
us. Let’s do our part! Our meeting is planned for May 19 - 21- speaker Stan
Butt. Let’s make it a success!!

The family of Lloyd Britt wishes to express our appreciation for all the
prayers, visits, calls, cards, food and all other acts of kindness shown during
Lloyd’s recent illness and death. It was an encouragement for us to get to share
the memories that cover so many years our family shared with many of you. We are
grateful to have brothers and sisters in Christ who share life’s triumphs and
life’s challenges together in the way only those in God’s family can and do.
In Him,

A TENT MEETING DOES MANY THINGS FOR US!
1. It makes is appreciate the gospel even more
than we formally did.
2. It helps us to understand the urgency of
the task of saving the souls of man, because we are reminded of that task
continuously throughout the meeting.
3. We actually become burdened with the
thought of lost people around us and begin praying about it.
4. It opens our eyes to the good that can be
done in such an effort as we see people respond to the invitation of Jesus.
5. Very definitely, we do realize the power of
God's word.
6. It build a new fire, or helps to rekindle
an old flame in the eyes of Christians.
7. It makes an impact upon the entire
community as they see so many putting forth an effort to devote so much time to
gospel preaching.
8. It encourages the local preacher to do more
effective work among the people with whom he associates, for he realized the
spiritual tempo is higher at the close of a meeting than it is normally.
9. It encourages an evangelist to see people
concerned about godly living, and it is a reward to him to know that he had been
instrumental in leading people to the Shepherd of their souls.
10. Most of all, it glorifies the Father who is in heaven.
He sees his people at their best, working for his cause.
